Frequently Asked Questions
Ultimately, each brake job should be assessed on a case-by-case basis. A general rule of thumb is to replace brake pads every 30,000 to 70,000 miles. This wide range in mileage is due to various factors such as driving characteristics, vehicle weight, and vehicle usage, to name a few.
The integration of electronic parking brakes (EPB) in vehicles has become a notable trend in the automotive industry. While this technology has been available in-high end luxury vehicles for several years now, OEMs are beginning to utilize this technology more frequently. The EPB replaces manually operated parking brakes, which require the driver to physically depress a pedal or pull a lever to engage.
All ADVICS aftermarket brake pads sold in the United States use a proprietary ultra-premium ceramic friction formulation.
Rotors should be replaced when they are near or below the minimum thickness specified by the manufacturer, which is usually marked on the rotor itself. For optimal braking performance, our techs at ADVICS recommend replacing brake rotors whenever brake pads are replaced. This ensures safe and reliable braking while maintaining the best possible performance of your vehicle's braking system.
ADVICS, an OE full-system supplier, engineers all brake system components to ensure optimal performance when used together. Aftermarket components undergo the same level of engineering, ensuring vehicle owners experience the same level of confidence in their vehicle’s braking characteristics as they did when it was new.
High carbon rotors are engineered with a higher percentage of carbon within their metallurgy composition, offering a range of benefits. These include thermal management during braking events, increased resistance to cracks and fade, reduced thermal judder, and minimized rotor warpage.
Not all brake fluids are created equal! There are a variety of brake fluids on the market, each serving a specific purpose. The most common type found in vehicles is DOT 3, which has been in use for many years. As braking system technology advances, the demands on brake fluid have increased. To meet these demands, ADVICS has introduced DOT 4 LV, otherwise known as having a low viscosity. This brake fluid exceeds industry boiling point benchmarks, which is a critical factor to consider when choosing the right product. It is important to note that a higher boiling point indicates higher quality.
